Gillian has been teaching with great enthusiasm for over 25 years. She adapts her style of teaching according to the individual needs of her students.
Biography
Gillian Cohen went to the Purcell School (for young musicians), and studied with several distinguished violinists, including Hugh Maguire at the Royal Academy of Music, and with the highly acclaimed teacher Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School, in New York.
She has had a busy and varied career as a freelance performer, working in both chamber and symphony orchestras, and in ensembles. She has also recorded for films (such as James Bond films and films directed by Richard Attenborough), and recorded backing up pop groups etc. She has played with several well known light music musicians including Frank Sinatra. Gillian also teaches Viola.
