Biography :

Eileen Price was educated at Homerton College Cambridge before winning the Open Singing Scholarship to the Royal College of Music. She won the major singing prizes including the Clara Butt Prize and the Tagore Medal for the most distinguished Musician of the Year.

She has sung with all the major orchestras singing in Oratorio and Concert work with Hans Sworowski, Sir Malcom Sargent, Sir John Barbirolli, Sir Adrian Boult, Sir Alexander Gibson, Eric Robinson and others. Her favourite operatic roles were Cherubino, Suzuki, Hansel and Charlotte.

She has taught singing at University College Cardiff, United World College, St. Donats and the Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she recently retired as Head of Vocal Studies. She joined the staff of the London College and Junior Department of Guildhall in 1992 and Royal Holloway in 1998.

She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing America and is past Chairman of the Association of Teachers of Singing UK. She examined as Voice Specialist for the Associated Board and enjoys adjudicating.

She is Coordinator of the Teaching of Teachers of Singing Course for AOTOS held annually at Harrow School.
